On land, guests can explore Mozambique with a drive on a terrain vehicle to view birds such as Flamingo, Fish Eagle, Olive Bee Eater, African Marsh Harrier, Montague Harrier, Osprey and Sunbird or catch a glimpse of the local wildlife such as Crocodile, Mangrove Crab and Samango Monkeys. For nature lovers there are many walking trails leading through interesting areas around Bazaruto Island such as mangrove communities, freshwater lakes and turtle nests.

The Farol do Bazaruto, is an old lighthouse near the north point of the island and was built by the Portuguese over 100 years ago. The lighthouse has not been in operation for many years, but the view from the top of the lighthouse is truly spectacular.
