Flamingo Bay Water Lodge

Flamingo Bay Lodge, in Inhambane Bay, is uniquely designed to offer the once in a lifetime experience of sleeping in luxury chalets atop the peaceful ocean. The Flamingo Bay Water Lodge is built on stilts in the water and offers a romantic atmosphere in its 20 luxury water chalets.
All the chalets offer en suite bathrooms, air-conditioning and tea and coffee facilities. These chalets boast a well appointed balcony with glorious views, sliding doors and hand crafted furniture made from local hardwoods.

The main building which houses the reception, restaurant, bar and lounge is set apart from the rooms and is connected by a wooden walkway and provides a circulating golf cart to transport guests between the main building and the rooms.
Facilities at Flamingo Bay Water Lodge include a swimming pool, curio shop, library, conference centre and internet facilities.

Mozambique offers a choice of activities and guests can take advantage of some of the best scuba diving, snorkelling and fishing on the coast of Southern Africa. Guests can snorkel from the balcony of their chalet, or take a walk to the beach. Other activities on offer include horse riding, charter boat fishing, Dhow trips, kayaking and canoeing. On land, guests can explore the mangroves, the historical Inhambane City and the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Conception; the Governors House; Mercado Central Market for fresh produce, fish, spices and cashew nuts and the museum and mosque. Taking a Dhow from Inhambane to Maxixe is a must for all visitors to the area. This is a short ride across the Bay to Maxixe and is an experience of the age old tradition. Diving off of InhambaneĆ­s coast is some of the best in the world and guests can enjoy such rare treats as Manta Rays and Whale Sharks when in season. Fishing is also popular along the coast of Inhambane, whether shore fishing or deep sea fishing, Inhambane offers some of the best sport fishing along African coast.

Dining at the elegant Flamingo Bay restaurant is a sumptuous affair of the best of local Mozambican ingredients and fresh seafood overlooking the swimming pool which merges into the view across the bay. The lounge or coffee bar provides drinks, a light meal and relaxed atmosphere while cocktails can be enjoyed on the spacious pool deck while watching the sunset. The well equipped conference centre seats up to 60 delegates in comfort for those combining business with pleasure. The business services on offer include a drop down screen, TV monitor, overhead projector and flip charts.
