There is no shortage of things to do on vacation in Zanzibar.
Stone Town, Zanzibar’s capital, is noted as being the only functioning ancient town in East Africa and is a fascinating historical experience for tourists.
Jozani forest is a natural park and is home to the endemic species of Colobus Monkey as well as Sykes Monkey. Nature trails through the park are available for those who enjoy wild-life.
The beautiful beach of Mangapwani is surrounded by flamboyant trees and is a beautiful spot for bathing.
There are a number of Persian palaces and baths to visit, including the Maruhubi Palace, which was destroyed by fire in 1899 leaving interesting remains of the bathing areas and Mtoni Palace, which was built at the beginning of the 19th Century and although only the central structure remains relatively intact, it provides an idea of how impressive the palace once must have been. The Persian Baths, at Bububu, are still relatively intact and interesting for a short visit.
There are many excellent snorkelling sites around Zanzibar and if you are traveling around the island it is recommended that you carry a mask and snorkel on hand to avoid missing any opportunity to explore the spectacular reefs.

Zanzibar comprises the Zanzibar Archipelago in the Indian Ocean and consists of numerous small islands and two large ones. Zanzibar’s ecology is noted for being the home of the endemic Zanzibar Red Colobus and the Zanzibar Leopard, now believed to be extinct. It is characterised by beautiful sandy beaches, coral reefs rich in marine diversity. Being near to the equator, the climate on the islands is warm all year round and is ideal for tourists to visit at any time. Many locals in Zanzibar also speak English making traveling around fairly easy for tourists.
